Perseus Mining Limited has on 15th March, 2022 donated an amount of GH¢100,000 to the Apiate Support Fund to compliment government’s efforts in rebuilding the Apiate Community.
The General Manager who presented the cheque on behalf of his company, Mr. Desmond Tamakloe said he is happy to hear that the temporary project earmarked for the resettlement of the people of Apiate has commenced and hoped that their contribution will be an add on to the work that is already being done.
He said as an organisation who follow developmental projects such as that of Apiate, they will be on standby to the needs of the people of Apiate and will see how best they can support further as and when necessary.
He applauded the Committee for taking up such a humanitarian role to mobilise Funds to help reconstruct the homes of the people in Apiate.
The Chairman of the Committee, Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee in her response explained that while working on the temporary structures, the Reconstruction Implementation Committee are also working tirelessly on the building plans for the new green, sustainable and model Apiate Commmunity which hopes to start soon.
She appreciated the generous gesture of company and hoped that all the monies accumulated over the past month will go a long way to help complete what she described as the “daunting task” of rebuilding the Apiate community and providing a sustainable livelihood for it’s people.
