The Center for National Culture facilities across the country was established by government to serve as place where cultural activities of national importance, talents training and exhibition and other important entertainment activities which identifies and unites Ghanaian.

A visit to the Center for National Culture (CNC) in Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis saw the once beautiful edifice now in a deplorable state.

The facility is now used as rubbish dump and a comfortable hide out for thieves around the Fijai (suburb of Sekondi) area.

According to Ghconnect, not only will anyone who visits the edifice see the thirst for paint, the amount of rubbish one will meet at the entrance and the deplorable state of the building left to deteriorate is an embarrassment and enough cause for opprobrium!

The CNC was safe haven where people ply their trade. It is however not safe again as thieves have paraded the place .

The Centers for National Culture was set up to promote and preserve Ghanaian culture and heritage. Most of them have a large air conditioned hall where sometimes they show films or present other events. It is mostly used to hold several drama and culture competitions by senior high schools in the metropolis in which most youths exhibited their talents.

The National Commission on Culture is the mother of all regional center for national culture. They exist to respect, preserve, harness and use cultural heritage and resources to develop a united, vibrant and a prosperous national community with a distinctive African identity and personality and collective confidence and pride of place among the comity of nations”
