Some physician assistants have stormed the premises of the Ministry of Health in Accra to register their displeasure over the government’s failure to post them.
The group claims that although they have been out of school for three years, the procedures to post them have taken longer than expected, leaving them without employment.
According to them, the demonstration today was important because every means to get government post them have not yielded any results.
Meanwhile, the PRO for the Ministry of Health, Isaac Offei Baah, said the ministry has not yet received financial clearance to post them and promised that as soon as they receive clearance, they will be posted.
“The Ministry makes recruitment based on clearance that we receive from the Finance Ministry and so when we get the clearance, we will open the portal, and then we will allow them to appeal.”
“We understand the frustration they [the physician assistants] are showing now, and we pray that going forward, as we dialogue, we will be able to make things easier.”
