The arrests followed an intelligence-led surveillance operation within Sefwi Bekwai and its environs, during which officers intercepted three of the suspects riding an unregistered motorbike. Upon reaching the Mpesiem Police snap checkpoint, the suspects failed to stop and were pursued and arrested..

A search conducted at their respective places of abode resulted in the retrieval of a backpack containing numerous talismans, a face mask, and finger rings, items suspected to be used to facilitate their criminal activities.

Preliminary investigations have linked the five suspects to multiple robbery incidents in the Bekwai area.

All suspects are currently in police custody, assisting ongoing investigation.
