The Akwatia District Police Command in the Eastern South Region has arrested Joshua Amenuku for unlawful possession of ammunition.

The arrest took place on Friday, August 22, 2025, at about 11:30 a.m., when a police team on snap check duty at the Akwatia Y-Junction intercepted the suspect.

Officers reportedly found 15 live BB cartridges in a pack during the operation and immediately took him into custody.

Following the arrest, the police escorted Amenuku to his residence at Akwatia. A search conducted in his room led to the retrieval of one ADLER TULPA pump-action gun and five additional BB live cartridges.

The suspect later produced a license covering the firearm.

However, the police indicated that the permit will be forwarded to the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons for verification of its authenticity and ownership.

According to the police, the case is under active investigation, and updates will be provided as inquiries progress.
