The Ghana Police Service has declared wanted a male suspect who is seen in a viral video threatening to shoot and harm some public officials
The suspect identified as Ibrahim Mohammed, also known as Commander Kanawu, threatened violence on the public officials and any other person who stands in their way.
In the video, the suspect accused the Interior Minister and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of falsely recruiting individuals into the police to influence the elections.
He also threatened to shoot and harm some public officials, including IGP Akuffo Dampare, Interior Minister Henry Quartey, Electoral Commission boss Madam Jean Mensah, and others.
“This 2024 is all die be die. Dampare be careful and respect yourself as IGP”, he said.
The police has therefore promised a reward of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 50,000.00) for anyone who is able to share relevant and credible information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect.
