The Oti Regional Police Command has successfully intercepted a substantial shipment of suspected narcotics hidden within a long trailer at Dambai in the Oti Region.
The operation, conducted on February 10, 2026, was executed based on intelligence gathered by the police.
According to a statement issued by the police and signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police John Nchor, the Oti Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, officers stopped and searched a DAF Long Trailer with registration number GW 1943-09. Initially, the trailer appeared empty; however, a thorough inspection revealed modifications featuring secret compartments sealed with six metal plates.

In the presence of the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Amidu Jubril, the police opened the concealed compartments beneath the trailer. The search yielded 4,000 parcels of compressed dried leaf substances wrapped in yellow masking tape, suspected to be narcotics.
The truck has been impounded, and all retrieved exhibits are being retained for evidential purposes. Currently, the suspect is in Police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
