The Ghana Police Service has invited Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a radio and television presenter based in Kumasi, to assist with investigations regarding the alleged dissemination of false information.

According to a statement issued by the Police, the invitation follows a viral video circulating on social media.

In the video, the presenter is seen in the studios of Wontumi FM in Kumasi, making claims that voters would cast their ballots for presidential candidates on separate dates during the upcoming December 2024 general elections.

The Police assert that this statement is false and has the potential to disrupt public peace.

Oheneba Nana Asiedu has been directed to report to the Ashanti Regional Police Command in Kumasi as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The Police have also issued a caution to the public, particularly media practitioners, to act responsibly and avoid the publication of false information.

They stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability before, during, and after the upcoming elections.
