The Volta North Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department MTTD, in collaboration with the National Road Safety Authority NRSA, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority DVLA and the National Insurance Commission NIC re-engaged the various drivers’ unions within the HOHOE municipality at the HOHOE Lorry station ahead of the Christmas season encouraging them to exercise maximum care during and after the Christmas and New Year festivities.
According to the MTTD Commander, drivers bear a critical responsibility during the festive period because of increased travel across the country ensuring that all passengers reach their destinations safely and without Accident.
The engagement further urged night drivers embarking on long journeys to take adequate rest before travelling, stressing that fatigue remains one of the leading causes of road accidents.
Additionally, the other resource speakers urged drivers to adhere to road safety regulations and practice more defensive driving techniques to reduce road accident and ensure to insure their vehicles before using them on the road.
The Volta North Operations command ASP/Mr. Abednago Amoah, on his part, commended all the drivers for adhering to safety driving, leading to no record of car accidents within the region for the year 2025.
