The Special Support Unit (SSU) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested a key suspect in the violent attack on the Omanjor Palace which claimed three lives and left 49 others injured.
Police sources indicate that on Saturday, August 30, 2025, intelligence gathered revealed that the suspect, identified as Newton Allotey, was hiding in Dansoman after allegedly taking part in the deadly assault on the palace of the Chief of Omanjor.
Acting on the intelligence, four SSU teams moved into Dansoman in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025. At about 1:00 a.m., the teams stormed the suspect’s hideout at Dansoman Last Stop and successfully arrested him.
A search conducted during the operation led to the discovery of 18 spent BB cartridges in his possession.
Meanwhile, strenuous efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects whose identities are already known to security agencies.
