Police in Berekum East have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 43-year-old senior high school teacher, Abu Kabore, whose body was discovered under a mango tree in Senase.

The teacher’s body was found in a decomposing state, and the cause of death remains unclear.

According to reports on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM by Nana Kwame, the deceased had a history of mental health crisis with frequent episodes and lived with an individual who provided support.

However, when this individual travelled, Abu left the house without notice.

A search was launched, but efforts were futile until his body was found in Senase, not far from Nsoatre.

It is reported that Abu had visited a food vendor, consumed food which he begged for, and later sat under the mango tree where his body was discovered.

The body was infested with maggots, prompting officials to retrieve it and sanitation officers to fumigate the scene.
