The Accra Regional Police Command has launched investigations into a fire outbreak that occurred at Madina Ritz Junction on the morning of Sunday, August 3, 2025, which resulted in injuries to seven individuals.

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, Superintendent Juliana Obeng, the Command disclosed that preliminary information indicates the fire was accompanied by a shooting incident, which caused injuries to seven people in the ensuing chaos.

“Fire personnel successfully brought the situation under control, while police officers were deployed to secure lives and protect property in the affected area,” the statement said.

The injured persons, who have since been identified, are currently receiving medical treatment at various hospitals.

Superintendent Obeng noted that investigations have been opened into the circumstances surrounding the fire and shooting, and efforts are underway to apprehend the individuals responsible.

“In the meantime, police visibility has been enhanced in the area to maintain calm and prevent any further disturbances,” she added.

The Command is urging members of the public to volunteer credible information that could assist in the ongoing investigations.

“The Accra Regional Police Command cautions individuals against exploiting emergency situations to commit crimes and reiterates that anyone found culpable will face the full rigours of the law,” Supt. Obeng warned.

Residents have also been encouraged to cooperate with security personnel and promptly report suspicious characters or activities to the nearest police station.
