Consequently, the Police Service urges all party supporters and the public to cooperate fully with security personnel, adhere to the governing rules, and maintain peaceful and lawful conduct.

“The Police Service further encourages the public to promptly report any suspicious activity or security concerns to the officers on duty, at the nearest police station or by calling the police emergency numbers 191 or 112.”

POLICE SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY (NPP) PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES

The Ghana Police Service wishes to inform the general public that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries scheduled to be held nationwide on Saturday, 31st January 2026.

The Police Service has deployed adequate personnel to all designated voting centres, collation points, and surrounding areas across the country. These measures are intended to ensure the safety of delegates, party officials, election officials, observers, and the general public, as well as the protection of property before, during, and after the exercise.

Police visibility patrols, both mobile and static, will be intensified, and rapid response teams have been positioned to respond promptly to any security situation that may arise. Access control measures will also be enforced at voting venues to maintain order throughout the process.

The Ghana Police Service appeals to all party supporters and members of the public to cooperate fully with security personnel, adhere to the rules governing the primaries, and conduct themselves in a peaceful and lawful manner.

The Police Service further encourages the public to promptly report any suspicious activity or security concerns to the officers on duty, at the nearest police station or by calling the police emergency numbers 191 or 112.

The Ghana Police Service remains committed to its constitutional mandate of protecting lives and property and maintaining peace and security throughout the country.
