The Save Ghana Movement has accused governments and flagbearers of deceiving Ghanaians into voting for them in election years by using sugar-coated words and promises.

The Save Ghana movement said the tenure of previous governments had revealed that they were deliberate in making promises that they did not intend to keep except to win electoral fortunes.

The Save Ghana Movement quoted the Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, who promised to provide free Wi-Fi access to every senior high school in the country but failed to do so.

According to the group, the Vice President has now made another promise to ensure that every student receives a laptop.

At a press briefing on Monday, June 5, the leader of the Save Ghana Movement, Robert Ansah, urged Ghanaians across the country to choose leaders who have the country at heart and not their political parties.

The Movement is asking Dr. Bawumia to point out a single school that has benefited from the free Wi-Fi initiative.

The Save Ghana Movement expressed their weariness with unfulfilled promises made by previous leaders and urged delegates and Ghanaians to take this sentiment into account when selecting their flagbearer.

The Save Ghana Movement also sought to know about the decision by former president John Dramani Mahama to abolish exgratia, which will remain unfulfilled when in power.

The Movement is also urging Ghanaians to choose leaders who are not only visionaries but capable of turning their visions into reality.
