An Accra Circuit Court has remanded five persons including a pregnant woman for allegedly robbing a Chinese woman of her cash amounting to Gh¢410,000 Ghanaian Cedis, 2 iPhones and $8,000 United States Dollars.

Prince Anthony, Izichuku Igwenagu, Emmanuellla Chinwetalu, Martin Ahamaful Onwukwa, Godfrey Chukuebuka and Yaw John Darko Ikenna were the accused persons.

They were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime through robbery.

The Court presided over by Mrs. Susana Eduful denied their plea, pending further investigations and would re-appear to Court on December 28.

The Prosecutor, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Seth Frimpong opposed the grant of bail saying if accused persons were granted bail, they will hamper investments.

He told the Court that the police at the peril of their lives managed to arrest the accused persons and that they had extended investigations into other places because some of the accused persons were said to belong to a group of robbers who allegedly travelled to Ghana to rob and leave the Ghanaian jurisdiction.

According to him, the Police intelligence revealed that Ikenna had sent some monies to Emmanuellla to travel out of the country.
