A pregnant woman, 22-year-old Priscilla Sackey is pleading with authorities to release her abusive husband, who has been jailed for six years over domestic violence.

According to Priscilla, she only wanted the police to punish Richard Adjei to deter him from further abusing her, but he unfortunately ended up in prison.

“On the day my husband was arrested, he assaulted me, and I went to report him to the police. When the police came to arrest him, he was not home. When he came back, he subjected me to beatings for reporting him to the police. This angered my aunt, who reported him again, leading to his arrest,” she told Crime Check.

Speaking to the mother of one, she said, despite being abusive, she needs Richard’s help to take care of their child.

Priscilla said she regrets her actions and therefore wants her husband released since her family and that of her husband have turned their backs on her.

“At least, if Richard were here, he would have worked to take care of us. Please help me get him released,” she pleaded.

Priscilla and Richard have been married for two years.
