President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr. Anthony Kwasi Sarpong as the Acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The appointment was made under Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 13(1) of the Ghana Revenue Act, 2009 (Act 791).
According to the letter, Mr. Sarpong’s appointment is pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice from the governing board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
The appointment officially takes effect from January 21, 2025.
The announcement, signed by Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Secretary to the President, congratulated Mr. Sarpong on his new role and urged him to confirm his acceptance of the appointment within 14 days.
This appointment signifies a critical step in ensuring effective leadership at the GRA, tasked with overseeing revenue mobilization for national development.
