President John Mahama has sworn in the newly appointed members of the Ghana Armed Forces Council, the body tasked with overseeing military operations and providing strategic advisory support.
The ceremony, which took place on Monday, March 24 at the Presidency, saw several individuals take their oaths of office.
Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will serve as Chairperson. She was joined by Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, Daniel Addo, Fuseini Iddrisu, and Nancy Dakwa Ampofo, who were all sworn in as members.
Under Vice President Opoku-Agyemang’s leadership, the Council is poised to focus on modernizing the military, enhancing personnel welfare, and fortifying national security policies.
The Armed Forces Council plays a pivotal role in shaping military strategy and ensuring the Ghana Armed Forces remain well-equipped and mission-ready.
The inauguration of the Council is expected to foster improved coordination between the government and the Ghana Armed Forces, ultimately bolstering defence governance.
