President John Dramani Mahama has officially inaugurated a 19-member task force, dubbed the “120-Day Social Contract” team, at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, February 11.

This esteemed group has been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring and ensuring the delivery of the president’s social contracts within his first 120 days in office.

The task force, chaired by Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor, comprises an array of distinguished ministers and advisors, including Hon. Ato Forson, Minister for Finance; Hon. John Jinapor, Minister for Energy; and Hon. Dominic Ayine, Attorney General, among others. Notably, the team also includes Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Education; Hon. Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism; and Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister-Designate for Gender.

The president’s social contract promises to usher in a new era of transformative governance, with a focus on creating a lean and efficient government, addressing economic issues, and implementing significant social interventions. The task force’s mandate is to ensure that these promises are translated into tangible actions within the stipulated timeframe.

Ultimately, as President John Mahama embarks on this ambitious endeavour, the 19-member task force will play a pivotal role in monitoring progress, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions to ensure the successful implementation of the social contract.
