Prof. Hinson Ranked #1 Marketing Scholar in Africa – 2021 AD Scientific Index

The 2021 AD Scientific Index (Alper-Doger Scientific Index) in its latest report has adjudged Professor Robert Ebo Hinson, the Head of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) as the number one marketing scholar in Africa.

The 2021 AD Scientific Index (Alper-Doger Scientific Index) in its latest report has adjudged Professor Robert Ebo Hinson, the Head of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) as the number one marketing scholar in Africa.

The AD Scientific Index is a ranking and analysis system based on the scientific performance and the added value of the scientific productivity of individual scientists.
The index was developed by using the total and last 5 years’ values of the i10 index, h-index, and citation scores in Google Scholar. In addition, the ratio of the last 5 years’ value to the total value of the abovementioned indexes is used.
Using a total of nine parameters, the “AD Scientific Index” shows the ranking of an individual scientist by 12 subject (Agriculture & Forestry, Arts, Design and Architecture, Business & Management, Economics & Econometrics, Education, Engineering & Technology, History, Philosophy, Theology, Law / Law and Legal Studies, Medical and Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Others), 256 branch, 11,700 institution of employment, 186 country, 11 region (Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America, Oceania, Arab League, EECA, BRICS, USAN and COMESA) and in the world.

The University of Ghana Business School Performance
In the 2021 index, six scholars from the University of Ghana Business School made it into the top 100 most proficient scholars in Ghana. These scholars were Professor Joshua Abor from the Department of Finance, Professor Richard Boateng from the Department of Operations and Management Information Systems, Professor Mohammed Amidu from the Department of Accounting, and Professor Kwasi Dartey Baah from the Department of Organisation and Human Resources Management.
The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship was the only Department at the Business School with two scholars as part of the top 100 scholars in the country, Professor Bedman Narteh and Professor Robert E. Hinson, the Head of the Department. This strong showing of the University of Ghana Business School in this latest ranking goes to reinforce the strong scholarship profile of the Business School, and its pre-eminence among Business Schools in Africa.
Under the leadership of the former Dean, Professor Joshua Abor and current one, Professor Justice Bawole, the last three years at the University of Ghana Business School has witnessed a raft of promotions into the Associate Professor and Professor ranks, a strong testament to the rising scholarship intensity of the School.

The 2021 AD Scientific Index, Professor Robert E. Hinson, the Head of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, made a particularly strong showing in the Business and Management and Marketing sub-domains of the 2021 AD Scientific Index ranking.
