The Assin South District Police Command has arrested Prophet Mark Dzimah, Founder and Leader of the Christ Pentecostal Church, over allegations that he set fire to the home of his former partner at Abura Kwaduagya.

District Police Commander DSP Robert Kyeremeh confirmed that investigations are ongoing, noting that although the suspect has denied the allegations, he will be arraigned before court upon completion of police inquiries.

Relationship Turns Sour

The victim, 47-year-old seamstress Joyce Akomaning, who shares two children with the suspect, recounted that she ended the relationship due to alleged persistent physical and emotional abuse.

She believes the incident was a revenge attack following the breakup.

Fire Destroys Livelihood

The fire reportedly broke out around 9:00 p.m., completely gutting her single-room residence and destroying valuable belongings.

Despite the intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service from Abura Dunkwa, access challenges within the area reportedly hampered firefighting efforts.

Items lost in the blaze include:

Three industrial sewing machines, her main source of income

Television sets and other electronic appliances

Cash and essential personal documents

“I have lost everything,” she lamented.

Displaced and Seeking Help

Madam Akomaning and her children are currently homeless and relying on friends for shelter and survival.

She has expressed frustration over delays in the investigation, calling on authorities to speed up proceedings to ensure justice is served.

She is also appealing to the public, philanthropists, and humanitarian organisations for support to rebuild her life and replace her destroyed business equipment.

Police say investigations are still ongoing as the case develops.
