A group of youth in Bole-Bamboi took to the streets, burning car tyres at the residence of President John Dramani Mahama’s father, to express their discontent over the omission of their Member of Parliament, Yusif Sulemana, from the President’s ministerial nominations.
In a swift response, Sulemana appealed to the youth and residents to remain calm and refrain from any acts of agitation in his name.
He reaffirmed his loyalty and support for President Mahama, expressing confidence in his wisdom and leadership.
Sulemana urged his constituents to support Mahama’s “reset agenda” and focus on unity and development.
He assured residents that their concerns would be addressed and that he remained committed to representing their interests, regardless of the role assigned to him.
“I kindly appeal to the youth and people of Bole/Bamboi to remain calm and refrain from any form of agitation in my name,” Sulemana stated.
“As a loyal and devoted brother of H.E. John Dramani Mahama and a firm believer in his wisdom and experience, I wholeheartedly support his decisions.” He advised.
This incident bears resemblance to a similar protest that occurred in Tamale South when Haruna Iddrisu’s appointment was delayed.
In that instance, youth took to the streets to express their frustration, highlighting the importance of timely communication and representation.
