The Minority caucus in Parliament has given the Bank of Ghana (BoG) seven working days to provide information on the cost of its new headquarters under construction in Accra pursuant to section 18 of the Right To Information Act (ACT 989).
This was contained in a letter signed by Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bawku Central Constituency, Mahama Ayariga on behalf of the minority Chief Whip, Kwame Governs Agbodza.
“l am instructed by lng. Kwame Governs Agbodza, the representative of the Adaklu constituency and Chief Whip of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) caucus in the Parliament of Ghana (Minority Chief Whip) to write to you to request for the the processes involved in the procurement of the construction of the new headquarters building of the Bank of Ghana currently under construction at Ridge in Accra and the contractors involved in the construction. Please provide names of consultants and project managers”, the letter indicated.
The minority is also demanding financing arrangement of the construction of the new headquarters building of the Bank of Ghana at Ridge in Accra and currently under construction, cost, scope of works, bill of quantities and contract start and completion dates of the new headquarters among other information.
“My name is Mahama Ayariga Esq and I am the representative of Bawku Central constituency in Parliament on the ticket of the NDC. Kindly provide information within 7 working days from the date of this letter,” he added.
