Provincial Grand Lodge South-East, under the Grand Lodge of Ghana (GLOG), has donated an autoclave machine to the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.
The donation, which was made on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, by the group, is a part of their annual charity project.
Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Major. Gen. Nii Carl Coleman Rtd., who was part of a delegation that handed over the equipment to the hospital, noted that the equipment was the hospital’s biggest need and, as a result, decided to replace it for them.

“One of the tenets of Freemasons is to help the poor, the needy, and those who are in distress. We undertake our charity projects as often as we can, but most specifically, at least once a year, we should look for either an institution or a person in distress and make a donation, which we call ‘our charity project’.
“This year, when we sat to consider the nature of our charity project, it was decided that we do a donation to the Princess Marie Louise Hospital. We approached them to find out what their needs were, and they made us understand that their biggest need was to replace their age-old autoclave,” he said.
He further pledged that the group will continue to offer support to the hospital when the need arises.
“As often as we think there is a need to support them, will continue to do so. In the past, we have not only supported this hospital, but we have also supported basic schools, providing them with projectors for their I.C.T, so it’s not only for the hospital but health is very important. More so, it is the health of children, and we consider it most appropriate that we should support them.”
The administrator of the hospital, Joanita Da Pilma, who received the equipment on their behalf, expressed gratitude for the gesture and promised that it would be put to good use.
