The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has commenced sitting to examine the Auditor General’s report on public accounts of government for the year 2020.
The committee will also examine the Auditor General’s report of public accounts of various ministries, departments and agencies from during the sitting.
The committee which would be sitting from 9 am each day is expected to conclude their work on Friday 10 February, 2023.
The Public Accounts Committee consists of not more than 25 Members and is chaired by a Member who does not belong to the party which controls the Executive branch of Government.
The duty of the Committee is to examine the audited accounts showing the appropriation of the sums granted by Parliament to meet the public expenditure of the government as presented to the House by the Auditor-General of Ghana.
Parliament is currently on holidays and will resume on 7th February, 2023.
