A disturbing CCTV video has emerged showing a man, reportedly a soldier or claiming military affiliation, physically assaulting two civilians inside a pharmacy near Burma‑Camp. The victims include a pharmacy attendant and a female customer, both of whom were caught off guard by the violent incident.

The footage, which has quickly gone viral on social media, shows the individual entering the pharmacy and immediately engaging in aggressive behavior. He can be seen grabbing and pushing the two civilians, causing panic among other patrons. The victims appear visibly distressed, while other customers and staff look on helplessly.

The incident has sparked outrage across Ghana, with civil society organizations and members of the public calling for immediate investigation and accountability. Many have expressed concern over the conduct of uniformed personnel or those claiming military affiliation, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilians in public spaces.Ghana health insurance

In response to public pressure, the Ghana Armed Forces has reportedly launched an internal inquiry to confirm the identity and service status of the individual involved. Officials have stated that if the perpetrator is verified to be a member of the military, he will face appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with military protocol.

The assault has also reignited discussions on civilian–military relations and the oversight of military personnel outside official duties. Experts argue that incidents like these undermine public trust in the armed forces and highlight the need for stricter accountability measures when soldiers interact with civilians in non‑operational settings.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional CCTV footage or eyewitness accounts to come forward to support the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, human‑rights groups have called for transparency in reporting the findings and for preventive measures to ensure civilians are safeguarded against potential abuses by security personnel.

The Ghana Armed Forces have reassured the public that they are committed to upholding discipline, accountability, and public trust, stressing that acts of misconduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
