The Queen Mother of Dantano, a farming community near Kukuom in the Asunafo South District, Nana Abena Gyapah III and the Unit Committee Members in the community have dragged the New Patriotic Party’s Chairman of Dantano and five other members to Goaso Circuit court for allegedly embezzling funds meant for a borehole project.
Report says the Party Executive Members were appointed to take over the management of Dantano Community water, a borehole project to supply the community with portable drinking water.
The project could not be executed as a result of misappropriating of total amount of GH¢11,834.00 by the executives in charge.
An audit exercise which was conducted by Chartered Accountant revealed that the defendants had misused the funds totaling Gh¢11,834.00 during the period, 2nd February, 2017 to 3rd August, 2018.
The defendants were however asked to refund the said amount to the plaintiff to enable plaintiff account to the Dantano township.
