Rehabilitation works begin on Salaga-Kpandai road

Rehabilitation works are currently ongoing on the Salaga–Kpandai road, which was recently rendered impassable after heavy rains cut off sections of the stretch, leaving commuters and residents stranded for days.

Responding swiftly to the situation, the Member of Parliament for Salaga-South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, in collaboration with the Ministry of Roads and Highways, has facilitated temporary rehabilitation works to restore access. Discussions are also underway to ensure that the main contractor returns to site soon to continue the full reconstruction of the road.

As part of follow-up and monitoring efforts, the NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz, and the Director of Special Projects, Mr. Mustapha Nafiu, visited the site today to assess the progress of work. The site foreman indicated that the ongoing repairs are expected to be completed within the next three days, bringing much-needed relief to road users.

During their visit, the constituency team interacted with residents along the affected stretch, briefing them on the MP’s intervention and the steps being taken to ensure a lasting solution.

The residents warmly welcomed the effort and expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Hajia Zuwera for her timely response. They also appealed to government to expedite the process of bringing the contractor back to site to complete the road project.
