Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II has urged Members of Parliament to pay regular visits to their constituency to be familiar with and create good relationships with constituents.
He made this statement when Speaker Bagbin and some Ashanti region MPs paid a visit to him ahead of the 30th-anniversary celebrations public lecture at the Great Hall of the KNUST.
According to Asantehene, this will reduce over-monetizing the electoral process because when constituents know their capabilities and see their efforts towards their policies, there would be no need to buy votes from them.
Meanwhile, Speaker Bagbin assured Asantehene that, he will strive to remain transparent and accountable to the electorate and Ghanaians generally as he steers the affairs of the 8th Parliament to a successful end.
