The leadership of the Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC on Friday October 22, 2021 presented a cheque of Two Hundred thousand Ghana cedis to the Ministry of youth and sports as part of their corporate social responsibility towards the development of sports in Ghana.

At a short ceremony to present the donation, the Managing Director of the Bank, Mr. Farid Antar stated that the donation was in response to H.E the President’s call on corporate Ghana to support the national teams.

He said Ghana is one of the few countries in Africa that stands out whenever football is mentioned globally and therefore it is only natural for the Bank to lend their support when the need arose.

The Minister for youth and sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif expressed his profound gratitude to the delegation for showing great interest in the development of sports in Ghana.

He underscored the need to improve on the standard of sports in Ghana and added that the donation will go a long way to provide the needed support to bring the sport to international standards.

He mentioned that the Black Stars were on course to qualify to the FIFA 2022 World cup in Qatar having already qualified to the CAF 2022 African cup and such support will help them in their preparation towards the games.

He reiterated the need to support them in diverse ways since it is the sport that is known as the passion of the nation and also to encourage them to bring glory to the motherland.
