Some concerned residents of Kpone in the Greater Accra Region have taken to the street to demonstrate over the deplorable state of roads in the area.
The residents, consisting of residents of Kpone, community 25, Prampram, Dawhenya, Devtraco and associated communities have expressed dissatisfaction about the state roads which have been negatively impacting lives and businesses.
Government cut-sod for the construction of a 17-kilometre Kpone-Dawhenya some four years ago, however the project has been abandoned with no sign of contractors returning to the site.
This as a result causes traffic congestion on the stretch which according to the group is adversely affecting their businesses, health, and psychological well-being.
Residents are therefore calling on authorities to as a matter of urgency to call contractors to resume work adding that they in tend to stage several protests if their demands are not met.
