Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has urged party supporters not to be intimidated over their choice of candidate in the upcoming presidential primaries, warning against acts of threats and victimization within the party.
Speaking during his final campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Acheampong emphasized that party members have the right to freely support and vote for candidates of their choice without fear or pressure.
He urged the delegates to remain steadfast in their convictions and to reject any attempts at coercion that may arise as the primaries approach. Dr. Acheampong highlighted the importance of a transparent and democratic process, stressing that each vote carries significant weight in shaping the future of the party.
He called on all members to stand united in their commitment to uphold the values of fairness and respect within the party. By fostering an environment of open dialogue and trust, he believes the New Patriotic Party can emerge stronger and more cohesive. As the primaries draw near, Dr. Acheampong reassured delegates that their voices are crucial in determining the direction of the party and the nation.
He cautioned that intimidation of party faithful undermines internal democracy and weakens party unity.
According to him, the strength of the NPP lies in its commitment to democratic values, tolerance, and respect for differing views.
He therefore called on party leadership and stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and transparent primary process.
Dr. Acheampong also appealed to supporters to remain focused and united, stressing that mutual respect during the primaries would help position the party strongly for future national elections.
