Restoration Empowerment Project, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in collaboration with Vodafone Ghana Foundation, has organised a free health screening for the Nima market women in Accra.
A team of doctors and nurses from Corporate Health Ghana Ltd. who conducted the exercise, screened and treated the market women, including the young and aged, for various ailments and administered medication while those diagnosed with serious health conditions were counselled and referred to the hospitals.
The Founder of Restoration Empowerment Project, Mrs Stacy Amoateng in an interview, said the objective of the exercise was to help the markets women who hardly get time for themselves to visit the hospital for checkups and to know their health status.
According to her, it was important for women to regularly check their health status as that would help them know their medical conditions and seek health advice.
She added that Restoration Empowerment Project together with its key supporters as part of activities to help women in the society, will support women financially to boost their businesses.
The free health screening project was in line with the two NGOs’ corporate social responsibilities to solve problems of the needy, aged and marginalised.
DKB, Jayana, DKB, Kofi Nti, Sheriffa Gunu and patrons of Restoration Empowerment Project led by Mrs. Stacy Amoateng were present at screening.
The project was supported by Vodafone, Yazz, Corporate Health Ghana Ltd, ABN, Adonko Next Level and many others.
