The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) has issued a press release calling on individuals who recovered items from the recent helicopter crash site to return them to the authorities.
The crash, which occurred on August 6, 2025, resulted in the loss of several lives, including high-profile government officials.
According to the ARCC, intelligence gathered suggests that some residents who were first on the scene picked up parts of the helicopter and other belongings.
The council is now urging anyone in possession of these items to return them, regardless of their size or significance.
The ARCC has offered a cash reward for individuals who willingly return the items, with the offer remaining in place until August 11, 2025.
The items can be handed over to the Unit Committee, Assembly Member, Municipal or District Chief Executives, or any member of the investigating team on the ground.
The council has warned that anyone found in possession of the items beyond the specified date will be deemed a criminal and will face the full rigors of the law.
In a statement signed by Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister, the ARCC expressed its gratitude to the public for their cooperation.
The return of the items is crucial to the ongoing investigation into the cause of the helicopter crash. The ARCC’s efforts aim to ensure that the investigation is thorough and that those responsible are held accountable.
