Let’s dump partisan politics for a moment, and examine the action of the two most revered women (1st and 2nd ladies) who in consultation with their husbands (President and Vice) have decided to revert their allowances.
For me, the decision to return and further refuse to take the humanitarian assistance provided by the public purse is a gross disrespect to ALL GHANAIANS, haven’t received it for over four years now.
This has dire consequences for the reputation of Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira Bawumia and can affect Ghana’s international credentials.
Did they do that, because of the public backlash and resentment against the monthly salary as recommended by Professor Yaa Ntiamoa- Baidu Committee and as approved by the 8th Parliament?
If the President and Vice can watch their wives, angrily misbehave by compensating the public coffers then, they should as well collapse the offices of the first and second ladies because staff and operations of those offices are dependent on Ghanaians (under the auspices of the Presidency).
Ridiculous, how can 1st and 2nd ladies continue to work for people they disregard?
A mother must not exhibit signs of arrogance, pride, and intolerance to criticism like this.
Question
Can Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira Bawumia return the unfaded prestige, integrity, glory, and honor that office has provided them?
Her Excellencies Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Samira Bawumia must have the courtesy to apologize to Ghanaians before issuing statements to pursue their so-called work.
