The staff of the National Communications Authority (NCA) officially welcomed Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko as the Acting Director General on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the NCA Tower in Accra.

In his first address to staff in this new capacity, Rev. Ing. Fianko expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the institution and underscored his commitment to advancing the NCA’s mission.

He attributed his historic appointment to the authority’s focus on capacity building, noting the importance of nurturing talent within the organization.

For the first time in the NCA’s history, an internal member has been elevated to the role of Director General. This milestone was met with enthusiastic applause and pledges of support from staff, who acknowledged the significance of his appointment.

With a wealth of experience in the communications sector and a track record of exemplary service, Rev. Ing. Fianko expressed confidence in his ability to transform the NCA and position it as a world-class regulatory authority.
