A robbery suspect has allegedly escaped after slipping through police ‘grip’ at Weija Police station in Accra.
The escapee, Kwame Mike was part of a gang of four suspected armed robbers who reportedly attacked passengers at Mallam Junction in Accra.
Three of the suspects including Mike were arrested at the scene of the robbery. One managed to escape.
On October, 16, 2025, Mike escaped from police custody after he requested to use the washroom while he was under police escort.
The officer who escorted him has since been detained to assist with administrative investigations into the security breach.
