As part of its corporate social responsibility and health advocacy initiative, Rock City Hotel is marking Prostate Cancer Awareness Month this September through partnership with health professionals to offer free prostate cancer screening and raise awareness about the importance of early detection.
Prostate cancer remains one of the most common cancers among men, and early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment. Despite this, many men delay or avoid screening due to stigma, lack of awareness, or accessibility issues. Rock City Hotel’s initiative is designed to break down these barriers by making health services more approachable and accessible.
As part of the campaign, the hotel is providing free Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) testing to men aged 40 and above at selected locations and partner organizations, ensuring broader access for individuals from all walks of life.
In addition to physical health checks, the initiative includes mental wellness assessments that help identify symptoms of depression and suicide risk, critical issues that are often overlooked in men’s health conversations.
The hotel is also engaging guests and the local community in educational efforts to raise awareness about prostate cancer risks, symptoms, and the importance of regular screening.
Georgette Quarmyne, Head of Corporate Communications at Rock City Hotel, emphasized the importance of corporate responsibility in promoting public health. “We believe that hospitality goes beyond comfort, it’s about caring for our guests and our community. This is our way of saying, ‘The health of our men matters to us,” she stated.
This initiative is part of a broader movement during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, which encourages men to take proactive steps in safeguarding their health. By making screenings accessible and stigma-free, Rock City Hotel is helping to save lives, one test at a time.
