Rock City Hotel has partnered with Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance Ghana at the latter’s Adabraka branch to raise awareness about breast and prostate cancer, with the goal of promoting early detection and preventive care across the country.
The initiative, launched as part of both organizations’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, focuses on educating communities about cancer risks, symptoms, and the importance of regular screening. Cancer remains a growing public health concern in Ghana, where late diagnosis continues to claim many lives every year.
“We are proud to support health education that saves lives and strengthens families,” said a representative from Rock City Hotel. “Our goal is to extend our hospitality beyond our guests by uplifting the communities we serve.”
As part of the annual campaign, Rock City Hotel and Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance are committed to hosting educational seminars, free screenings, and community workshops in partnership with healthcare providers and mobile clinics. These activities aim to help curb breast and prostate cancer in Ghana. Information will be shared through both physical events and social media to reach a wider audience.
Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance Ghana, a member of the global Sanlam and Allianz Group, noted that the campaign aligns with its mission to promote wellness alongside financial security.
“At Sanlam Allianz, we believe that true financial security starts with good health,” said the Branch Manager. “Awareness and early action save lives, and we’re honored to collaborate with Rock City Hotel to spread that message nationwide.”
The program targets men and women within at-risk age groups, including Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance employees. Educational sessions cover self-examination techniques, screening options, and lifestyle habits that can reduce cancer risk.
The initiative also encourages businesses to promote workplace wellness programs and support cancer screening events.
Practical health messages emphasize that women over 40 should consider mammography or clinical breast exams, while men over 40 are encouraged to consult their doctors about prostate screening options such as PSA tests. The campaign also highlights the importance of healthy living, regular exercise, and balanced nutrition in reducing overall health risks.
Public education and early screening can change the story of cancer in Ghana by saving lives. As part of the campaign, Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance employees were encouraged to cultivate the habit of regular health checks and screenings.
The collaboration between Rock City Hotel and Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance Ghana underscores the power of partnership in saving lives through awareness, compassion, and proactive care. Together, they are helping build a healthier, more informed Ghana.
