Several women affected by the intimate content scandal involving a Russian national are said to have formally lodged complaints with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
According to a release from the Minister of Communication,Samuel George, the complaints are being processed in collaboration with relevant state agencies, with steps underway to escalate it to INTERPOL to issue an international arrest warrant.
The absence of a legally binding treaty between Ghana and Russia has made it difficult to extradite the suspect.
The Russian Ambassador, Sergei Berdnikov in a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, indicated that the name of the individual at the centre of the matter is not a known Russian name but it rather represents an inappropriate or vulgar expression in the Russian language.
