The suspects, identified as Yaw Bamuah, Yaa Bokaa, and Kuma Simpor, were picked up by authorities on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

According to an official statement released today, March 16, 2026, by the Staff Officer of the Savannah Region, ASP Richard Osei Yaw, the arrests followed intensive intelligence-led investigations into a recent wave of violence in the area.

During interrogation, one of the suspects, Yaw Bamuah, reportedly admitted to his involvement in the attack.

He disclosed to investigators that the violence was a retaliatory act triggered by the earlier killing of a relative.

The suspects allegedly believed the relative had been murdered by robbers they identified as Fulanis.

Following his confession, Bamuah led a police team to his residence in Gbiniyiri. A search of the premises uncovered a concealed single-barrel shotgun (serial number BAT 2598-88) and two live 9mm cartridges hidden within the compound.

The police are currently pursuing several other accomplices named during the interrogation.

These individuals, who remain at large, are

Anuda Borour, Pobiye, Bitunor Sansa and James Sanyuah.

The three primary suspects remain in police custody to assist with ongoing investigations.

They are expected to be arraigned before a court shortly. Meanwhile, the Regional Command has assured the public that efforts have been intensified to track down the remaining fugitives linked to the case.
