The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced an upward increment in sachet and bottled water prices effective Monday, October 31.

According to the Association, a bag of sachet water, 500ml by 30 pieces, is to be sold at ¢10 maximum from the retail trucks.

Retailers will sell the commodity between ¢12 and ¢15 per bag.

The price of sachet water will be retailed at ¢0.60p, while the 500ml bottled water will be retailed at ¢2.50 and 750ml bottled water or medium size, will be sold at ¢3.50 and 1.5L retailed at ¢5.00.

In a statement issued on Thursday by NASPAWAP attributed the adjustment of prices to the fuel price hikes and the cedi depreciation.

“The price reviews have been necessitated by the rising cost of inputs such as fuel and packaging materials which are mainly imported, and increases in electricity and water which took effect from September 1, 2022.

Parts of the statement, however, cautioned that there might be slight variations in prices across the regions due to haulage to remote and distant areas.

The Association further appealed to all individuals to cooperate with the dealers since the adjustment reduces manufacturers’ production costs.
