The Presidency has formally announced that the Honourable Dr Terrance Michael Drew, Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, will embark on a consequential state visit to Ghana.
Scheduled from Tuesday, March 3, to Saturday, March 7, 2026, this visit represents a pivotal moment in the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
A key highlight of Prime Minister Drew’s stay will be his participation as a guest in Ghana’s 69th Independence Day celebrations.
In addition to the commemorations, the Prime Minister is set to engage in bilateral discussions at the Presidency, aimed at strengthening existing bonds and identifying new opportunities for mutual collaboration.
The Prime Minister’s agenda underscores a profound commitment to academic and cultural exchange, with scheduled engagements at the University of Ghana and an exploration of the historical and ancestral ties between the Caribbean and Africa.
This includes visits to the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Centre, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, and the Cape Coast Castle. Furthermore, Dr Drew will pay a formal courtesy visit to the Omanhene of the Oguaa Traditional Area, honouring local customs.
According to the official statement, this visit demonstrates the burgeoning partnership between Ghana and Saint Kitts and Nevis, as both countries operate under the framework of South-South cooperation to advance their shared interests in critical sectors such as education, health, trade, investment, and technology.
