Both FC Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC have made significant statements in their maiden CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup campaigns respectively.

Samartex who won the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League recorded a historic 1-0 victory over Cameroonian champions Victoria United in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

After a goalless first half, Samartex broke the deadlock early in the second half when Emmanuel Mamah found the back of the net, outjumping his markers to score the only goal of the game from a corner kick.

Mamah’s crucial strike not only gave Samartex the lead but also ensured that the Ghanaian side left Cameroon with a vital away victory.

FC Samartex 1996 will host Victoria United in the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on August 25, 2024.

On the other hand, Nsoatreman FC also marked their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup in grand style with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Chadian side Elect Sports.

The Ghanaian FA Cup champions delivered a scintillating performance at the Accra Sports Stadium, scoring all three goals in a dominant first-half display.

Mohammed Abdul Rahman opened the scoring Bono-based club on the 30th followed by a well-taken strike by Kwabena Meider in the 34th minute.

Nsoatreman FC sealed the victory in the 36th minute with another goal from Mohammed Abdul Rahman.

With a three-goal advantage, Nsoatreman FC heads to the Ahmadou Ahidjoe Stadium in Yaoundé, Cameroon, for the return fixture on August 24, 2024, with high hopes of advancing further in the competition.
