Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Samira Bawumia, has declined the spousal monthly salary passed by the parliament of Ghana.
In a statement released and signed by her lawyer, the wife of the Vice of President said she is ready to refund allowances the State has paid her from 2017 to date and will not accept any monies allocated to her pursuant to the recommendations of Prof. Yaa Ntiamoa-Badu led committee.
Her decision comes in barely 24-hours after First Lady, Rebecca Akuffo Addo, announced that she is also declining hers and paying back GHS899,097.84 paid to her from 2017 till date.
