Ghana is home to many talented people in the film industry who are excelling in their chosen sectors.
Shining the light on one of the seasoned filmmakers who is putting Ghana on the map but is yet to be celebrated is Samuel Gyandoh.
Sammy is a television film producer, gaffer, and lighting designer. He has won numerous accolades, so it is impossible to undervalue his skill in films and television productions.
Gyandoh started his film production journey in 2000 to date. He started as a Production Assistant and gradually became a Gaffer/lighting designer.
He has worked on countless film and TV projects both locally and internationally. Sammy has travelled to most African countries such as South Africa, Zambia, Rwanda, Liberia, Nigeria etc to film.
He worked with Sasani Studios in South Africa for two years as a lighting designer and worked on projects like Isidingo, Skeem Sam, Rythm City, Big Brother Africa etc.
Samuel Gyandoh also worked with channels such as GhOne TV, UTV (as Head of the lighting department) Viasat 1/Kwese TV (as Head of the lighting department and technical producer).
He is currently the Founder/President of Film Crew Association of Ghana as well as the founder/organizer of the Ghana Film & Television Crew Awards
Gyandoh was appointed board member of National Film Authority [NFA] to represent Film Crew Association of Ghana by the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo.
