The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA) through structural reforms and a renewed focus on discipline and excellence.

Speaking at a staff engagement held at the CSA to introduce the new Director General, Mr. Divine Selase Agbeti, the Minister emphasized the critical role of cybersecurity in national security and digital transformation, urging employees to prioritize national interests.

He stressed the need for sustainable financial support to ensure the agency’s effectiveness, calling on the Chief Director to secure adequate resources. “We are not doing anyone a favour by funding the CSA; it is a national security imperative,” he stated.

The Minister emphasized that his leadership approach prioritizes competence over political affiliations, stating, “I don’t care if you are an umbrella, an elephant, or a butterfly. What matters is your ability to deliver”.

He also announced the appointment of two Deputy Director-Generals to enhance the agency’s operational efficiency.

Looking ahead, the Minister outlined his top priorities for the CSA, including the operationalization of the Cybersecurity Fund and the completion of the agency’s new headquarters. He assured staff that despite challenges, these goals would be achieved under his leadership. “For me, once I set my mind to something, I get it done. And I will get it done,” he asserted.

Acting Director-General Mr. Agbeti expressed gratitude to the President and the Minister for the opportunity to lead the CSA.

He reassured staff of his commitment to fostering teamwork, strengthening institutional structures and ensuring a collaborative work environment.

“The strength of the weakest person in your team determines the strength of your entire team. Let us work together to make the CSA stronger”, he urged.
