The Ghana Health Service will today, May 19, 2021 roll out the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccines across various health centres in the country.

Government of Ghana on May 7, 2021 took delivery of 350,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines to kick-start the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination programme.

The vaccines have been deployed to the various vaccination centres nationwide ahead of the exercise today.

The second phase of the national vaccination programme comes approximately 12 weeks after the first jab.

So far, 852,047 vaccines have been administered across the country as at 7th May, 2021.

Ghana’s Covid 19 active cases is expected to drop as the second phase of the vaccination roll-out program begins.

Ghana reported its first two cases of COVID-19 in March 2020. For almost a year, the Greater Accra Region has accounted for around 50 percent of all recorded cases in the country.
