Gospel musician Victoria Sarfo has ignited a discussion about the nature of gospel music.

Gospel musician Victoria Sarfo has ignited a discussion about the nature of gospel music.

She agrees with rapper Eno Barony’s recent comment that gospel music shouldn’t be defined solely by mentioning Jesus’ name.

In an interview on Ezra FM, Sarfo went a step further, suggesting that some secular songs carry more meaningful messages than some gospel music.

She specifically mentioned liking rapper Amerado’s “Kwaku Ananse” song for its encouraging lyrics. She even considers it a gospel song because it helps her calm down.

Sarfo’s comments have sparked debate about the boundaries of gospel music.

However, she’s also making waves with a different kind of collaboration.

She recently teamed up with other prominent Ghanaian gospel artists for a remix of her classic song “Jesus Kasa.”
