Elvis Kwawudza, a self acclaimed travel agent at SCC in Accra is alleged to have swindled a teacher of Ghc18,000 after promising to secure a Canadian visa for him.

Elvis is said to have taken the money and rather traveled abroad leaving behind the teacher who wanted a driving job in Canada.

The victim, Sadiq Ocrah, told Crime Check TV that Elvis approached him with various work and pay travel offers including driving. He said he chose and paid for a driving job in Canada but Elvis did not deliver.

The young teacher said after collecting the money, Elvis kept postponing the visa interview schedule at the Canadian Embassy.

He added that Elvis had also taken money from other victims whom he had told their names were on a Canadian visa protocol list.

Sadiq said upon the instructions of Elvis, he left his home to sleep at the Canadian Embassy for three days waiting for his name to be called for an interview, but to no avail.

Months passed and Elvis kept giving excuses for the postponement of visa interviews.

However, as the deal delayed and the victims could not wait any longer, they realized that Elvis had defrauded them.

He promised to pay back Sadiq’s money when he was reported to the police at SCC in Accra, and after paying Ghc 5,000 out of the amount, he never showed up when the police invited him.

Crime Check TV Gh contacted Elvis’s mother who confirmed that her son had traveled out of the country without the knowledge of Sadiq and the other victims.
